The purchase of these facilities in Uruguay marks Pluspetrol's first step in the field of renewable electricity generation.
Pluspetrol, a private international company with more than 45 years of experience in the energy industry in the hydrocarbon production, power generation, and mining sectors, is pleased to announce the acquisition of the Cerro Grande and Peralta I and II wind farms in Uruguay, owned by the DIF Infrastructure V and DIF Infrastructure VI funds, respectively, managed by CVC DIF.
These parks constitute the second largest private renewable electricity generation portfolio in Uruguay. Located in the departments of Tacuarembó and Cerro Largo, the parks have 72 Enercon E-92 wind turbines, with a total installed capacity of around 170 MW.
This infrastructure provides sustainable energy to approximately 60,000 Uruguayan homes, representing an annual reduction of ~25,000 tons of CO2 in the carbon footprint of the country's energy matrix.
It is worth noting that the acquisition of these wind farms marks Pluspetrol's first step in the field of renewable electricity generation and is part of its strategy of diversification and investment in sustainable energy sources.
