The construction of Parque La Molina required an investment of US$ 60 million and positions the Chilean real estate company as one of the main managers of shopping centers in Peru.
On Thursday, December 19, Chilean real estate company Parque Arauco inaugurated the Parque La Molina shopping center, located in the district of the same name in Lima, Peru. The event was attended by local and business authorities, as well as various fashion brands. The new mall is the company's second inspired by the lifestyle model in Peru, after Larcomar. This approach offers fashion, entertainment and gastronomy stores and brands for national and foreign clients.
It is worth noting that Parque La Molina required an investment of US$ 60 million and opened its doors with 90% of the surface area sold. Its offer includes 70 brands, distributed in 54 commercial premises and 20 modules, among which the Falabella retailer , the Cineplanet multiplex cinema chain, the Smartfit gym, as well as fashion and sports lines such as Lacoste, Nike, Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, among others, stand out.
“Parque Arauco is more than a chain of shopping centers. We are a team passionate about creating spaces that connect with people and connect them with unique experiences,” said Alejandro Camino, General Manager of Parque Arauco Division Peru during the opening ceremony.
Overall, the real estate company has positioned itself as one of the largest operators of shopping centers in Peru. On the verge of celebrating 20 years of presence in the Andean country in 2025, Parque Arauco manages 21 malls nationwide. These include the MegaPlaza chain, with branches in Lima and provincial cities such as Cajamarca and Ica; in addition to the Outlet and ViaMix chains.
On the other hand, the architectural design of La Molina Park focused on sustainability by measuring its carbon footprint, using eco-friendly and recycled materials, saving energy in common areas with a bioclimatic system and incorporating green areas.
“Our vision of sustainability is not limited to environmental impact, but also includes social impact. The project numbers reflect the positive impact we seek to generate,” added Camino. In this regard, the CEO highlighted that the construction of the shopping centre employed 1,180 people and its inauguration will generate more than 700 direct jobs.
Likewise, Diego Uceda, mayor of La Molina, described the opening of the shopping center as a “new era of development, opportunities and well-being” for the Lima district. He also highlighted the role that these private sector initiatives play in La Molina’s finances.
“We have received an investment grade rating of AA- from Moody's. This recognition is an honour, but also an affirmation that the responsible financial management and strategic vision of our municipality allows us to invest in works and more services for the residents,” said Uceda.
For his part, Juan Carlos Chiappe, Commercial Manager of Parque Arauco Division Peru, emphasized the gastronomic and technological offering of Parque La Molina. The first point includes restaurants such as Mad Burger, Epicerie Dasso, Song, in parallel with cafes and ice cream parlors such as Puku Puku, Freddo and Haagen Dasz.
“In technology and specialized products we have strategic allies such as Xiaomi, PC Factory and the drone brand DJI. While in health, beauty and wellness, another of the categories we focus on, we are accompanied by Dermotienda, La Antigua, Montalvo and El Turco,” explained Chiappe.
