Freelance work is a type of employment that has become widespread due to its significant benefits for people: it not only allows them to generate additional income, but also offers the possibility of having flexible hours and working from anywhere on the planet.
A trend that in Chile has already allowed the processing of more than US$ 18 million in payments between January and September 2024, according to data from Global66 , a fintech that allows receiving payments in dollars, euros and pounds as if they were local transfers, facilitating this type of transaction. In addition, they point out that the main destinations globally that hire national freelance talent are Colombia, Spain and the United States.
“When we analyze the amounts processed for payroll and freelance payment purposes, and compare them with the other five countries in which we operate, we realize that Chile is the country that receives the highest income under this concept, which is a strong sign of how this country is becoming an important exporter of professional services ,” says Tomás Bercovich, CEO of Global66.
He also points out that one of the main Challenges arise when receiving payment, since being an international operation, some methods involve high costs or delays, which directly impacts the freelancers' finances.
“At Global66 we offer an alternative without hidden fees or excessive exchange rate margins, with payments processed almost immediately. In addition, we give people control over currency conversion, which boosts their financial well-being and makes their lives easier when exporting these types of services ,” concludes the CEO.
