In a statement, the Food Delivery Brands group said that it made “every effort possible to sustain the company’s operations.”

Food Delivery Brands, the company behind Telepizza and Pizza Hut, announced the closure of these brands' operations in Chile.

In a statement, the group said it had made “every effort possible to sustain the company’s operations.”

“Food Delivery Brands (FDB), the parent company of Telepizza Chile, announces that, despite having made every possible effort to sustain the company’s operations, it has made the difficult decision to proceed with the closure of all its operations under the Telepizza and Pizza Hut brands in Chile, along with requesting the liquidation of the company before the competent courts,” the document states.

“Food Delivery Brands’ business in Chile has been affected by the consequences of a complex economic, competitive and financial environment, which has forced the FDB Group to make the decision to concentrate on its operations in Europe.”

The firm also maintains that the decision to request the voluntary liquidation of the company is "the most responsible way to preserve, to the greatest extent possible, the rights of the workers and the other parties affected by this process."

Although Food Delivery Brands announced the cessation of operations in its statement, it did not specify a time frame or future action plan for carrying out the closure.

Finally, the company thanked consumers for “the trust placed in it and all its employees for their dedication and effort throughout this time.”
