
Colombian businessmen visit Ecuador in search of investment opportunities
A mission of Colombian businessmen from the hydrocarbon, technology, food and tourism sectors are visiting Ecuador in search of investment opportunities, the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments and Fisheries reported on Tuesday, January 28.
The executives represent the companies Independence, Electryon Power INC, Indra, Grupo Empresarial Homeclub Paraíso, Messelatam, Eventing Hub SAS, Latam, Kafetto Gourmet and Kokoriko.
Carlos Zaldumbide, Vice Minister of Foreign Trade, highlighted at the inaugural event, which took place in Quito, the importance of Colombian businessmen as an ally for the economic development of Ecuador. He stressed that the presence of businessmen promotes and strengthens trade and bilateral relations between the two countries.
For her part, Carolina Maldonado, executive director of ProEcuador, said that collaboration with companies in the coffee-producing country will focus on issues of innovation, sustainability and access to strategic information, in order to strengthen business intelligence, identify global trends and promote the adoption of international standards, the Ministry of Production summarized in a statement.
The Colombian representatives stressed that thanks to dollarization, the Ecuadorian economy has stability. They also highlighted the quality of the country's production and its qualified human talent.
One of the areas of interest for developing projects is the energy sector. This was announced by Álvaro Torres, representative of Electryon Power, who saw opportunities in the area of renewable energy.
The Ministry of Production reported that the following activities will be carried out by the business mission in Ecuador:
- Meetings with potential strategic partners.
- Networking activities with members of the Ecuadorian-Colombian Chamber of Commerce.
- Presentation of the business climate and investment opportunities offered by Ecuador.
- Presentation of the regulatory framework for investments and the various investment attraction tools in Ecuador, including the free trade zone regime.
- Promotion of non-traditional Ecuadorian exports to the Colombian market.
- Strengthening cooperation between the productive sectors of both countries.
