“Paraguayan Meat Night” will take place at the end of February in Taipei, capital of the Republic of China (Taiwan), in order to promote the quality of national production to Japanese and Taiwanese businessmen.

The Paraguayan Chamber of Meat (CPC) said that preparations are underway for the development of the "Paraguayan Meat Night" in Taipei (Taiwan), an event that includes two meetings with Japanese businessmen and Taiwanese importers, between February 24 and 25, according to the entity through the report of the Union of Production Guilds (UGP).

The CPC stressed that the special event aims to promote the quality of national production to Japanese and Taiwanese businessmen, with the strategy of taking advantage of the opportunities of Taiwan as a hub to expand the presence of Paraguayan meat on the Asian continent.

"The sector is focusing on Asia as a pending destination," they said.

They also mentioned that the event will also seek to demonstrate the versatility of national production, through traditional Asian dishes, which aims at a diversification that highlights the added value of Paraguayan meat.

The national meat industry has already conquered the Taiwanese market, which has now established itself as the main buyer of pork and the second most important buyer of beef and offal.

In 2024 alone, exports of these products to the Asian country totaled US$28,773,171, US$197,575,032 and US$10,911,000, respectively.

After consolidating its position in this market, it is now aiming to expand into the Asian continent and has its sights set on other important destinations such as South Korea, the Philippines and Singapore.

THEY EXPECT "POSITIVE NEWS" FROM NEW ASIAN MARKETS

Recently, the Paraguayan Chamber of Meat (CPC) highlighted to ABC that they hope to “have positive news” regarding the authorization of South Korea in 2025.

The audit of this market on the national meat industry began last Tuesday, so there are high expectations regarding the results.

At the same time, they aim to achieve success in the Philippines and Singapore and, outside of Asia, to finally achieve export to Mexico. “All this to continue the series of openings that we have achieved through many years of sacrifice, both in terms of animal health and modern industries that are up to international demands,” said Daniel Burt, from the CPC board of directors.
