
Bitel, Entel and Claro increased the number of mobile lines while Movistar decreased.
The mobile market continues to expand in Peru and by the end of 2024 it reached 42.70 million lines, which meant a growth of 3.28% compared to what was reported in December 2023 (41.35 million), reported the Private Investment Supervisory Agency in Telecommunications (Osiptel).
By contractual modality, an increase is observed in the participation of the contract modality (postpaid and control), which reached 44.70% of the total reported lines, higher than the participation of 43.17%, registered in December 2023.
Meanwhile, prepaid lines accounted for 55.30% of the mobile network (23.62 million lines).
According to the PUNKU computer portal, at the end of 2024, Bitel registered the largest increase in mobile lines among the four main operating companies, going from 7.79 million mobile lines in December 2023 to 8.75 million in December 2024, which represented a growth of 12.39%.
Other companies that showed an increase in the number of mobile lines were Entel (3.94%) and Claro (2.75%). Meanwhile, Movistar registered a decrease of 1.95%.
In terms of market share, Claro remains in first place with 12.83 million mobile lines, representing 30.05% of the market share, followed by Movistar with 11.35 million lines (26.57%), Entel with 9.66 million (22.61%) and Bitel with 8.75 million (20.49%).
Dolphin Mobile, Flash Servicios, Guinea Mobile, Suma Móvil, Intermax and Dolphin Telecom together accounted for 0.28% of the mobile market.
