The Los Ríos region stood out and led the list with an occupancy rate of over 91%, and of the 53 destinations, 41 were compared to last year, showing an increase of 4.1 percentage points (pp.).
SERNATUR HIGHLIGHTS HOTEL OCCUPANCY IN FEBRUARY
In the aforementioned region, Valdivia-Corral and the Ranco Lake Basin stood out as destinations with an occupancy of 92.6% and 91.9%, respectively.
La Serena-Coquimbo took third place at the national level (89.5%), also highlighting the Elqui Valley (81.3%), Bahia Inglesa – Pan de Azúcar National Park (81%), Iquique (70.8%) along with Arica and the heritage coast (70%).
Undersecretary of Tourism, Verónica Pardo Lagos, said that “the hotel occupancy figures for February are excellent news for tourism in our country.”
For his part, the national director of Sernatur, Cristóbal Benítez Villafranca, also welcomed the data because “61% of the destinations compared had an increase in their occupancy rate, compared to the same period in 2024. Among those that achieved the greatest growth, Temuco and its surroundings stand out; the Viña del Mar-Concón Coast; Arica and the heritage coast, and Rapa Nui.”
In turn, the 6 tourist destinations in the southern area "exceeded total hotel occupancy" (Coyhaique and Puerto Aysén, Los Glaciares Province, Aysén Patagonia - Queulat, Chelenko, Torres del Paine National Park and the Strait of Magellan.
In the central area, half of the destinations had rates higher than 69.9%, that is, full occupancy. In the southern area, the figure was slightly higher, at 55%.
