Capital mobilized by mergers and acquisitions in Mexico falls 49% through February

As for the second month of the year, 11 transactions were recorded, both announced and closed, for a total of US$73 million.

The Mexican M&A market has recorded a total of 27 mergers and acquisitions, both announced and closed, as of February 2025, for a combined total of US$637 million, according to TTR Data's monthly report.

These figures represent a 54% drop in the number of transactions and a 49% decrease in their value, compared to the same period in 2024.

In February, 11 transactions were recorded, both announced and closed, for a combined total of US$73 million.

In terms of sectors, Marketing and Advertising was the most active sector of the month, with three transactions.

Regarding the cross-border market, through the second month of 2024, Mexican companies have primarily invested in El Salvador, Chile, Uruguay, Peru, and Argentina, with one transaction in each country. In terms of value, El Salvador stands out with US$1.90 million.

On the other hand, the United States and Spain are the countries that have opted to make acquisitions in Mexico, with 8 and 4 deals , respectively.

Venture capital and asset acquisitions

As of February 2025, a total of eight venture capital transactions totaling US$44 million were recorded, representing a 43% year-over-year decrease in the number of transactions and a 64% decrease in transaction value.

In the asset acquisitions segment, three transactions were recorded in February, representing a 77% decrease in the number of transactions compared to February 2024.
