This Friday, the Chilean president will tour Bangalore, known as India's "Silicon Valley." There, he will seek to seal collaboration agreements on technology transfer, according to the Chilean government.

Since March 30, Chilean President Gabriel Boric has been on a state visit to the Republic of India.

His agenda included official activities and meetings in New Delhi and Mumbai, where he discussed agreements and alliances to strengthen political and commercial ties.

And today, the President will tour Bangalore, known as India's "Silicon Valley." There, he will seek to seal collaboration agreements on technology transfer, according to the government.

In Bangalore, Boric will also participate in the Innovation Summit, where he will seek to position our country as a strategic partner in areas such as artificial intelligence and biotechnology.

BORIC ARRIVES IN INDIA'S "SILICON VALLEY"

Bangalore, located in southern India, stands out as the country's main technological center, standing out, for example, in software development.

In that city, Boric plans to actively explore collaboration and investment opportunities in the dynamic fields of innovation and technology, sectors in which India has proven to be a global leader.

At the Innovation Summit, a prominent technology forum designed to facilitate engagement with key industry figures, the President will seek to position Chile as a strategic partner in the field of innovation and attract significant investment in cutting-edge areas such as artificial intelligence and biotechnology, reported EFE.

Boric's presence at the Innovation Summit underscores his intention—it was emphasized—to consolidate Chile "as a strategic partner in crucial sectors."

The visit to Bangalore is the final leg of the trip to India, a diplomatic mission through which the President and his delegation have sought to "strengthen bilateral relations and diversify Chilean markets in a global context marked by persistent tensions," reported EFE.

And in the midst of his visit, Donald Trump officially launched his trade war in the United States.

Previously, the Chilean head of state was in New Delhi with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu. He participated in a business forum where he expressed his concern about the unilateral imposition of tariffs by the United States.

At the meetings in India, they agreed to begin negotiations toward a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, a pact that seeks to reduce tariff barriers and expand bilateral trade, which reached US$2.847 billion in 2023.

According to the government, Boric and his delegation will begin their return to Santiago on April 6.
