
This was announced by the Ministry of Mining on Wednesday, following the completion of the respective Senior Public Management competitions.
Chilean President Gabriel Boric has appointed commercial engineer Tamara Agnic Martínez and industrial civil engineer Alfredo Moreno Charme as new directors of Codelco for a four-year term, beginning next May.
This was announced this Wednesday by the Ministry of Mining, following the holding of the respective Senior Public Management competitions. These appointments fall within the legal framework, which stipulates that four of Codelco's nine directors are selected through the Senior Public Management System, using a special candidate search and selection process.
In addition, the president has appointed Ricardo Calderón Galaz as the representative of the company's supervisors, who was selected in accordance with the established procedure for this purpose.
With the addition of these three professionals, Codelco's board of directors is now composed of Máximo Pacheco Matte, Josefina Montenegro Araneda, Alejandra Wood Huidobro, Nelson Cáceres Hernández, Eduardo Bitran Colodro, Ricardo Álvarez Fuentes, Tamara Agnic Martínez, Alfredo Moreno Charme and Ricardo Calderón Galaz.
This board will have to face the major challenges facing public mining, with future projects such as Chuquicamata Underground, the Joint Mining Plan of the Andina Division, the entry into operation of the Inca Pit in the Salvador Division, and the opening of new businesses such as lithium in the Atacama and Maricunga salt flats, among others.
