The goal is to strengthen political and economic relations between the two countries, with a special emphasis on diversifying trade and investment alliances with the world's fifth-largest economy.
Boric will be accompanied by an official delegation composed of government officials, parliamentarians, and guests from the business, innovation, education, cultural, and agribusiness sectors.
Until April 6, the president will be in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore, seeking to strengthen political and commercial ties between the two countries, facilitating new alliances, collaboration agreements, and technology transfer in the areas of investment, technology, and culture.
Initially, on Tuesday, April 1, he will hold official meetings in New Delhi with India's top officials, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Draupadi Murmu. He will also lead a Business Meeting with representatives from India and Chile.
In Mumbai, the President will lead commercial events for the country, including a meeting with various CEOs of the Indian and Chilean agri-food industries, and will participate in Shoot in Chile, an event that aims to promote Chile as a destination for filming international audiovisual productions.
Boric will conclude his trip to India with a visit to Bangalore on Friday, April 4, the city where the Innovation Summit will be held. The event seeks to deepen exchanges on innovation and technology, drawing on the experience of Indian industry, among other activities.
