New InvestChile forum captures historic amount of US$ 9,000 million in investment projects

This meeting, to be organized in Santiago from May 15 to 17, is the largest of its kind held in Chile. The companies will participate with more than 60 projects associated with the creation of 3,000 permanent jobs.

With a record amount of investment projects, the VII InvestChile International Forum takes place in Santiago from May 15 to 17. The inaugural conference of the event will take place on Thursday the 16th, and will be led by Chilean President Gabriel Boric; the Minister of Economy, Nicolás Grau; the Minister of Finance, Mario Marcel and the director of InvestChile, Karla Flores.

In this edition, the forum will be attended by representatives of more than 100 companies from 28 countries, who participate with more than 60 investment projects - in different stages of development - valued at US$ 9,000 million, in the Technological Infrastructure sectors. and Digital; Infrastructure Concessions; and Clean Energy and Storage and Lithium Industry.

“Foreign companies that participate in the forum go through a selection process, in which they apply with their investment projects in high-value sectors. Never before have we had such great interest and such high amounts associated with these projects.

This not only speaks of the attractiveness of the opportunities that our country offers and the consolidation of the event, but also of the general view that investors have about Chile.

We are talking about sectors where we require foreign investment to help us take a leap in quality and accelerate our development, with a sustainable outlook that is linked to our SMEs, and creates permanent, quality jobs,” stated the director of InvestChile, Karla Flores. .

Chile Perspectives

On May 17 at 9:00 a.m. the inaugural conference will begin. Throughout the day, speakers such as Ministers Marcel and Grau, as well as the head of InvestChile, Karla Flores, will speak. All of them will share their perspectives with international figures such as the Chief Economist for Latin America and the Caribbean of the World Bank, William Maloney, and the Secretary General of UNCTAD, Rebeca Grynspan.

The agenda also includes two panels with representatives of foreign companies. The first will explore the role of foreign investment as a catalyst for smart solutions, with leaders from HIF Global, AES Andes, Google and AB InBev.

The second panel will delve into the experiences of companies such as SoftServe, Pacific Hydro Chile, Enel Chile and Mercado Libre, who will address reinvestment and expansion strategies in Chile.

Business opportunities

As part of the event, InvestChile will organize exclusive sessions, where foreign companies will have the opportunity to meet directly with relevant authorities and key players from specific sectors, who will provide them with first-hand information about the market, public portfolios, projections and plans for these industries. .

The sectors that will be addressed are Lithium Industry, Technological and Digital Infrastructure; Infrastructure Concessions; and Clean Energy and Storage.

A matchmaking session is also planned, where foreign companies will hold more than 140 meetings with potential local partners and suppliers.
