The US president has not yet revealed the identity of the interested parties or which of them he feels most strongly about.

US President Donald Trump has revealed that there are four interested parties in acquiring the American division of Chinese social media company TikTok, and that an agreement for its sale could be reached "shortly."

"We're dealing with four different groups and a lot of people want it," Trump said. Although the president did not reveal the identity of the interested parties or which of them he felt most preferred, he did indicate that all four were "good," he said in statements reported by Bloomberg .

Bytedance, the company behind TikTok, was initially facing a January 19 deadline to divest its US assets following the deal reached between Democrats and Republicans.

However, Trump issued an executive order after taking office giving the tech company 75 more days, until April 5, to sell its U.S. operations, which could be worth as much as $50 billion. Trump has indicated he could extend the deadline again if necessary.
