The head of the fiscal coffers has planned a series of activities - both in Washington and New York - with the World Bank, IMF and the UN. His agenda includes appointments and forums with investors, to whom he will present the perspectives of the Chilean economy.
The Chilean Ministry of Finance reported this Wednesday that Minister Mario Marcel will travel in the next few hours to Washington and New York, in the United States, to attend the spring meetings of the World Bank and IMF; and participate in the UN Economic and Social Council.
And in that context, and as he has done on previous trips, he will present the perspectives of the Chilean economy in investor forums, with the aim of attracting them to develop their businesses in local territory.
In detail, Marcel will speak with senior executives of risk rating agencies; will participate in a round table with investors at the US Chamber of Commerce (organized together with Invest Chile ) and will exhibit at LatAm Day, an event organized by Itaú.
MEETINGS WITH THE WORLD BANK AND THE IMF
The head of the fiscal coffers will be in the United States between April 18 and 20.
At the spring meetings, which bring together the governors of the World Bank and IMF, there will be finance ministers and central bankers.
Also attending are “multiple actors from the private sector, representatives of civil society organizations and academics, to debate issues of global interest, including economic prospects, poverty eradication and economic development in different regions of the world,” said the Treasury.
Marcel will also participate in the meeting of finance ministers of the Alliance for Economic Prosperity in the Americas (APEP), convened by the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, Janet Yellen, who a few weeks ago was visiting Chili.
APEP is made up of Chile, Canada, Barbados, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, USA, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Dominican Republic and Uruguay.
On Friday, and among several other appointments, the minister is scheduled to meet with the director of the Western Hemisphere Department of the IMF, Rodrigo Valdés.
Finally, Marcel will travel from Washington to New York to participate in the 2024 forum on Financing for Development (FfD) within the framework of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC ) , chaired by the Chilean ambassador to the United Nations (UN). , Paula Narváez.
