Aeroméxico and Telmex avoid strikes by voting on adjustments to collective contracts

New offers were presented that will allow the union leaders of both Aztec companies to put the proposals to a vote of the base of workers as required by the Federal Labor Law.

The companies Telephones de México (Telmex) and Aerovías de México (Aeroméxico) were very close to the union organizations with whom they support the collective bargaining contract, on the one hand the Telephone Operators Union of the Mexican Republic (STRM) and on the other The Union Association of Aviation Flight Attendants (ASSA) will break out into strikes due to lack of agreements.

However, new offers were presented that will allow union leaders to bring the proposals to a vote of the base of workers as required by the Federal Labor Law.

In the case of the Telephone Operators Union of the Mexican Republic, the proposal was 5.1% direct to salary and 1% in benefits, along with priority demands such as a package of vacancies, the renewal of the vehicle fleet and a bonus for employees. retired unionized workers. As well as, commitments in productivity, training and work matters, among others.

In this case, the voting process will be on Thursday, June 13 and Friday, June 14, 2024 at the national level.

Regarding the Union Association of Aviation Flight Attendants, headed by Ada Salazar, the proposal for this negotiation was a 5% increase; But the most important thing is to conclude the so-called Covid agreement that was signed, as support for the company in 2020 and that impacted the workers' income.

It is also mentioned that Aeroméxico agreed not to reduce the time of breaks on flights to Europe and Asia. In this case, the flight attendants are already in the Assembly to endorse the proposal, since the summons expires tomorrow, Thursday, May 30.
