The automotive industry in Mexico continues to record progress in sales of light vehicles in Mexico. The Japanese Nissan and the American General Motors lead the national market.
During March 2024, automotive companies in Mexico sold 124,395 new cars, 4.7% more than the same month of the previous year.
This level of sales was the best recorded for March since figures were available, according to the Inegi (National Institute of Statistics and Geography) series.
At the end of the third month of the year, the Japanese automaker Nissan maintained its place as the company that sells the most new cars in the Aztec country. It recorded sales of around 23,500 units.
The American General Motors and the German Volkswagen completed the podium with sales of 17,500 and 10,400 units respectively.
It stands out that, although its sales level is modest compared to the total, Ford registered a year-on-year growth of 32.4% in the total number of new vehicles sold.
