Impacta VC Fund adds Chilean startup Retorna to its portfolio after investing US$300,000

The Impacta VC investment fund allocated US$300,000 to the Chilean startup Retorna , a fintech that seeks to democratize remittance sending among migrants.

The investment in Retorna, made in the first half of April, consists of Impacta VC's highest ticket to date, thus adding the ninth startup to its portfolio.

The investment was carried out through a capital round for US$ 1,200,000, oversubscribed up to US$ 1,800,000 million. Impacta VC acted as the lead investor , and other investors were VC Amplifica, Morro Ventures and Colectivo Jaguara, among other angel investors, in addition to other actors to be defined in the available space.

This was Retorna's first round of capital, after having remained bootstrapping to date.

Retorna will invest the capital mainly in developing operations and focusing on customer acquisition and retention, with the expectation of opening remittance sending routes connecting all of Latin America, and thus positioning itself as the remittance sending company with the best service for its clients, thanks to its great added value and differentiation.

Retorna was part of the IFSP (Impacta Fundraising Strategy Program) last year, and was one of the startups selected to also go through the IFAS (Impacta Fundraising Advisory Sessions), 1:1 sessions in which the Impacta VC team worked side by side. elbow for 3 months with the company's fundraising team.

As for future investments, the fund has reserved a percentage for follows-on , and it is part of its strategy to accompany companies in their next rounds, as it has already done with Carryt, Kilimo and Wheel the World.

It should be noted that Impacta VC has in its portfolio with early investments in Betterfly, Wheel the World, Lab4U, Kilimo, Carryt, Cuéntame, and Airbag, and plans to multiply its portfolio with the incorporation of impact companies from all over Latin America, which it hopes will come from of your experience going through IFSP24.
