In the tenth month of the year, Nissan sold 21,002 new cars and General Motors sold 16,294 units.

During October 2024, the Mexican automotive industry managed to sell 122,051 new cars in the domestic market. This level implied a growth of 7.03% compared to the same month last year.

The level of new car sales recorded was also the best October record in seven years, according to information from the Administrative Registry of the Light Vehicle Automotive Industry of Inegi.

Sales of light vehicles also rose by 4.72 percent in the immediate comparison between September and October.

In the first 10 months of the year, automotive companies have sold 1,201,464 new cars in dealerships or through their online sites.

The breakdown by brand shows that the Japanese Nissan and the American General Motors maintain their leadership in the Mexican new car market.

During October 2024, Nissan sold 21,002 new cars, General Motors sold 16,294 units and Volkswagen was in third position with sales of 11,889 vehicles.

These three companies maintain significant market penetration; they produce nearly 4 out of 10 new cars sold in Mexico.

Much of the sales level is explained by the variety of austere and mid-range models they offer.

He points out that Toyota has managed to significantly expand its sales of new cars in Mexico; as of October, it is already in fourth place with a market concentration of 7.5 percent.

Although domestic sales of light vehicles remain in positive territory, they are expected to grow during November, especially due to the consumer incentives of El Buen Fin.

This weekend, many companies and financial institutions offer discounts, promotions and payment facilities.
