The figure recorded in the first eleven months of 2024 is the highest in the historical series for that period, according to data released by the Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with Embratur and the Federal Police.

Brazil has surpassed the total number of foreign tourists received throughout the year 2023, one month in advance, closing November with 5.96 million international visitors, surpassing the 5.9 million received during the previous year.

The figure recorded in the first eleven months of 2024 is the highest in the historical series for that period, according to data released by the Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with Embratur and the Federal Police.

According to the analysis, total arrivals from January to November this year were 12.9% higher than in the same period in 2023, representing 679,971 more international tourists in the South American giant.

Tourism Minister Celso Sabino welcomed the results. "We are breaking all records and November is further proof of this. Brazil has proven to be an attractive, cheap and safe destination for these visitors who can enjoy the beauty, gastronomy and our rich culture here," he said.

For his part, Embratur President Marcelo Freixo said that they are "happy" with these results and to see that Brazil is now experiencing a period of growth in international tourism, not recovery.

"This only shows that Embratur's international promotion actions are having an effect; that our strategy focused on segmentation in international markets has yielded many results," he explained.

Argentines continue to lead the volume of international visitors arriving in Brazil. More than 1.7 million visitors arrived in the country this year.

The United States is in second place, with 640,579 tourists. Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay together had more than 1.331 million visitors arriving in Brazilian destinations.

The main point of entry for these tourists is São Paulo, registering more than 2 million arrivals between January and November. Rio de Janeiro occupies the second position of entry to the country, with more than 1.35 million international tourist arrivals.

Both states are served by the country's main international airports: Guarulhos and Galeão.
