This is how Paraguayan meat exports grew in January

Meat export revenues continue to grow and contribute significantly to the Paraguayan economy, after closing 2024 with record figures, according to the latest Senacsa report.

As of January, exports of different types of meat, offal and by-products to various markets around the world totaled US$ 184,700,889, equivalent to 52,542,454 kilograms, according to the latest report from the National Service for Animal Health and Quality of Paraguay (Senacsa).

The amount received represents an increase of almost 40% compared to the income achieved last year during the same period, which reached approximately US$ 137,305,009.

The report highlights that beef represents the highest value and, as of last January, Paraguay exported a total of 26,391,656 kilos of bovine protein to at least 32 countries.

The marketing of this product brought US$ 148,368,000 in foreign currency into the country during the first month of 2025.

THE TOP 5 OF THE MAIN BUYERS OF PARAGUAYAN MEAT

According to the Senacsa report, Chile remains the largest buyer of Paraguayan beef, with 37% of the total, equivalent to 9,551,935 kilos worth 59,628,732 dollars.

It is followed by Taiwan, with 3,568,610 kilos worth US$ 20,718,775, and Israel, which continues to rise in the list of the main importers of Paraguayan red protein, with 2,156,689 kilos for US$ 13,266,051.

The United States climbed back to fourth place on the list, with 1,757,794 kilos worth US$9,190,439.

In fifth place is Brazil, with 1,088,983 kilos, equivalent to US$ 7,236,421.

SHIPMENTS OF GOODS

Regarding exports of bovine offal, Senacsa reports that at least 5,500,306 kilos of these products were sent to some 22 countries, which generated a movement of 9,544,812 dollars.

As for the largest buyers of this category of offal, the Senacsa report highlights that Russia, with 1,636,083 kilos worth US$ 2,874,554, leads the list of countries that receive the most bovine offal from Paraguay.

Next is Taiwan, with 372,717 kilos worth US$ 1,288,730; and Egypt, with 787,947 kilos worth US$ 1,112,235, remain on the list of the largest importers of this product.

Other markets such as Gabon, Israel and the Democratic Republic of Congo also feature prominently on the list.

PORK AND POULTRY MEATS

Regarding pork, Senacsa reports that the main destination of this Paraguayan production is Taiwan, which received 631,552 kilos worth US$ 2,020,646 during the first month of the year.

This list is followed by Uruguay, with 300,079 kilos for US$ 518,047, and Georgia, with 27,995 kilos for US$ 40,974.

According to the Senacsa report, Paraguay managed to export 959,627 kilos of pork products in the first month of the year, generating an income of US$ 2,579,668.

Regarding the poultry sector, Senacsa reported that 802,321 kilos of product worth US$ 955,116 were exported up to January.
