It has been just over a month since the closure of Telepizza and Pizza Hut operations in Chile was announced, after the company Food Delivery Brands decided to end this business in the country.
In this context, it became known that the auction of goods belonging to both companies was carried out, and that they relate to food supplies such as flour, sugar, yeast, frozen dough buns and even pizza boxes and disposable cups.
The sale will be carried out by Remates del Río on Friday, February 28 at 11:00 a.m.
AUCTION OF TELEPIZZA AND PIZZA HUT PROPERTIES
The batches include pallets with containers of garlic sauce and oil, drinks, 23 bags of semolina, more than 600 kilos of sugar, 100 bags of strong flour, 11 batches with frozen dough, 6 thousand pizza boxes and 31 tons of strong flour.
But these will not be the only Pizza Hut and Telepizza items to go up for liquidation, as Remates del Río explained to Diario Financiero , first the food will be auctioned off, and then the kitchen equipment (such as ovens and fryers), as well as counters and furniture.
This - which would happen in March - includes equipment from the 108 locations as well as from the central offices and the place where the masses were prepared, says DF.
The news of the closure of Telepizza and Pizza Hut put an end to 33 years of history in Chile, in the case of Telepizza.
Among the reasons why the FDB Group argued for the end of its operations under these brands are the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and also the increased competition in the pizza sector, with brands that began to heavily implement delivery in their business models.
This led to an “unsustainable financial situation” that led to an “insurmountable crisis in Telepizza Chile’s operations.” According to its request for voluntary liquidation before the courts, Telepizza has accumulated losses of $79,281 million (US$ 83.9 million).
Among its main creditors are Axis Logísitca, Comercial CCU and Molinera San Cristóbal.
