The agreement was signed in Beijing, China, by Iván Rosero, director general of Senae, and the vice minister of Chinese Customs, Wang Lingjun.
Ecuador and China are making progress in foreign trade with the signing of a Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) for Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) programs in Beijing, China.
In Ecuador, the Authorized Economic Operator program is free and voluntary, promoted by the National Customs Service of Ecuador (Senae), which qualifies foreign trade operators (OCE) that comply with security standards in the logistics chain and is promoted by the World Customs Organization (WCO).
The agreement was signed by Iván Rosero, director general of Senae, and the vice minister of the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC), Wang Lingjun.
According to Senae, the signing of this agreement marks an important milestone on the road to safer and more competitive trade for Ecuador, strengthening mutual trust and allowing actors in the international logistics chain, authorized as AEO by both nations, benefits such as:
- Facilitation of customs processes.
- Reduction of time and costs in foreign trade.
- Greater security in the international logistics chain.
According to the entity, this will allow exporting and importing companies to maintain a stable and predictable environment for their operations.
"This important step that favors authorized foreign trade operators opens the door for other Ecuadorian companies to become certified and access these benefits," Senae said in a statement.
